Our event doubled in size from last year, with 500 guests raising more than $33,000 for the Nashville Paw Foundation to help fund local pet spay and neuter!

Special guest Mike Wolfe kicked off the live auction with a vintage Willie Nelson poster that he picked on an episode of American Pickers, and it went for $1,000 thanks to high bidder Dustin Dowdy and the gang at Southeastern Tank, Inc!

We are thrilled that all 27 art pieces sold, as well as most all of our 75+ silent auction items!

In fact, one special painting sold twice: Bidders (and longtime Nashville Paw volunteers) Jill Hanson and Andrew Worsey were the high bidders on a gorgeous piece called "Who's a Good Boy?" by artist Jonathan Moosekian (pictured here). Although their $410 bid won, they were moved by the couple in front of them, who had been bidding against them because the piece looked like their own dog. In the spirit of true giving, Jill and Andrew gifted the piece to the couple, Carrie and Todd Parks -- who were, in turn, so moved that they decided to offer their bid of $400 as well, bringing this charming piece's donation to $810!

We'd like to offer our deepest thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, Mars Petcare US, for making Art for Animals possible and for supporting our animal welfare efforts!

We'd also like to thank our supporting sponsors: Animalia Health + WellnessAnimal House Veterinary Clinic, AEGIS and The Farm at Natchez Trace.

Special thanks also goes to Out & About Newspaper, Amiee Stubbs PhotographyBrian Wilson Videograpy and EditingLucie Rice Illustration and Design and Pure Form Media for their in-kind donations!

Finally, thanks so much to all of the artists and donors, as well as the 500+ guests who came out to support spay and neuter despite the snow! It was an amazing evening for the animals, and we cannot wait to do it again next year!

About Art for Animals & the Nashville Paw Foundation

We are thrilled to announce that our 2013 annual fundraiser raised over $33,000 for the spay and neuter efforts of the Nashville Paw Foundation. Thanks to the 500+ guests who came out and supported this fabulous evening of art, wine, food and fun for this vital cause!

Each year, approximately 10,000 animals are euthanized in Davidson County alone due to pet overpopulation. Spay and neuter is vital in the fight to save lives, which is why the Nashville Paw Foundation is dedicated to ending pet overpopulation through the funding of effective spay and neuter programs and to promoting animal welfare through positive community education.

Since the launch of this unique event, Art for Animals has raised more than $76,000 for spay and neuter efforts. The event has been featured as the Nashville Scene’s “Pick of the Week” as well as in Nashville Lifestyles, the Tennessean and the Green Hills News. In addition, it has been attended by everyone from casual pet lovers to art enthusiasts to Nashville-based celebrities such as Mike Wolfe, star of American Pickers.

100% of event proceeds benefit the Nashville Paw Foundation, which is dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation through the funding of effective spay and neuter programs and through positive community education.
