HOW TO ENTER (AUGUST 1, 2016 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2016)

On August 1, 2016 we will post the entry link here on this page.

Please note that to make the contest judging fair, we have 2 entry categories: one for general submissions by kitty parents, and the other is for submissions by professional photographers. Submissions may begin on August 1, 2016 and deadline is midnight on September 30, 2016.

Once entry link is live, you will be directed to our contest entry, where you’ll need to create a free account and enter your contact information. Then, you’ll be able to upload a high-quality jpg photo (no watermarks) and the name of your cat!

Winners will be contacted in October to arrange for prizes. Winners and runners up will be announced on December 1, 2016 on this page as well as in the December issue of Nashville Paw, which also hits stands on December 1, 2016.

Contest entry is limited to legal Tennessee residents age 18 and older. Prize must be picked up in Murfreesboro, TN (due to prize package size and weight, shipping is not available). Only one photo per entry, per household. Multiple entries will not be considered. Photo selection for inclusion in the magazine is solely at the discretion of Nashville Paw. Nashville Paw reserves the right to verify, in its sole judgment, winner eligibility. Nashville Paw reserves the right to change these contest rules at any time.

By submitting photographic images to Nashville Paw, you grant Nashville Paw a perpetual, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and otherwise exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to those photographic images at its sole discretion, including storing it on Nashville Paw servers and incorporating it in other works in any media now known or later developed including, without limitation, published books. Photographer retains copyright and will be given photo credit in conjunction with photo usage. If you do not wish to grant Nashville Paw these rights, it is suggested that you do not submit photographic images. Nashville Paw reserves the right to select, edit and arrange submissions, and to remove images from the Nashville Paw website at any time at its sole discretion.

Entrants warrant they own all rights to the photo they are submitting. Entrants will indemnify and hold Nashville Paw and its affiliates harmless from and against any and all loss, damage, costs and other expense arising out of claims, whatever their nature, resulting directly or indirectly from breach of this warranty.

The entirety of this agreement applies to ALL photos entered, whether or not they are chosen as winners.

All photos must be uploaded as a high-quality jpg file via the contest entry link. Photos should be high resolution (large size) and should have adequate lighting, be clear and crisp, and should focus on your cat (no humans or other pets in photo).

We’ll be looking for photos that show your cat’s personality and appearance in a creative, interesting and/or beautiful way. It is recommended to take the photo in natural lighting (near a window, etc) and avoid using a flash, which can cause harsh lighting and glowing eyes. Photos may be edited or unedited prior to submitting your entry, but in the least we will be looking for clear, quality photos. Phone camera submissions are fine!

Our Grand Prize winner in the general submission category will receive a deluxe cat prize package, which is valued at over $150 and includes a one-year subscription to Nashville Paw magazine, a special photo and editorial feature in our December 2016 issue and cat supplies, treats and toys from Honest Pet products, Oko Cat, Petlinks, Smarty Kat and more. Prize package must be picked up in Murfreesboro, TN.

Our Grand Prize winner in the professional photographer category will receive a quarter-page display ad in the December 2016 issue of Nashville Paw magazine ($450 value) for their photography business, as well as a special photo and editorial feature in the same issue.

We will also select runner-up photos to appear in the December 2016 issue. GOOD LUCK!
