jewelry for a cause
When artisan Kim Burks Chappell posted a link to her handstamped jewelry on our Facebook page, I knew I had to see it for myself. And when I received three beautifully designed animal welfare necklaces in the mail a few days later, I knew I was in love! Chappell’s creative wares offer such advocacy messages as “Spay/Neuter/Adopt” and “Peace/Love/Rescue”, and she practices what she preaches: 10% of her Etsy sales are donated to animal rescue groups.
Of course, as the proud guardian of our nine-month-old Pit Bull star, Briley, I couldn’t resist the charming “Pit Bull Mom”—and have received ecstatic compliments on it everywhere I’ve gone. Whether you’re looking for a great gift for the pet lover in your life, or you’d simply like to own some of this original art for yourself, you’ll find bracelets, earrings, necklaces and more at Chapell’s “Pawsitively Purrfect” Etsy shop. food to feel good about
There’s a new dog food in town, and it’s delivering holistic nutrition directly to your door! Like most families with small children, Chad and Jody Stone found themselves striving to provide their girls with natural, high quality, wholesome foods. While taking a proactive view to our children’s health, it occurred to them that Brady, their black Labrador Retriever, deserved the same attention to nutrition. With the help of great friends and a few experts, Bonafide Pet Foods was created on the philosophy that dogs food should be no less superior than your own.
Their nutritious and delicious recipes (approvingly tested by our own canine kids) are created with high quality meats or fish, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables and are naturally preserved. Not only do they promote antioxidant health and contain Omega-3 & Omega-6 oils, but every diet is free of corn, wheat, soy and gluten. Plus, their Bonafide Partner Program supports approved shelters and rescues! ($50-65, bonafidepetfoods.com)
