NashvillePAW welcomes article, artwork and photography submissions, as well as volunteers for events and delivery help. As we are a free community publication and a labor of love, we regret that we are unable to pay at this time. However, we do offer all contributors a nice byline in the magazine, and volunteers are listed on the masthead. Regular contributors are also featured on our website under "About US". Contributing to NashvillePAW is a wonderful opportunity for new and established writers to gain additional published clips while helping the animals of our community!

Writer's Guidelines

NashvillePAW publishes, on average, 3-4 feature stories (1200-3200 words) and several shorter department pieces (350-700 words) each issue.

If you are a writer and would like us to consider your article or feature story, please send us a brief query letter outlining your topic, as well as possible interview contacts, any available hi-res images (300dpi or better), sidebar ideas and any other relevant information. Please provide a brief bio and a couple of published clips for review. If you do not have any clips, please submit the entire article on spec.

If you are interested in writing for one of our regular departments, or would like to be considered for article assignments, please send us a brief letter indicating your writing experience and areas of interest/expertise, a brief bio and a couple of relevant published clips for review. If you do not have any clips, please submit a relevant writing sample between 400-800 words for review.

All articles must be submitted in Word format as email attachments. We do not accept article submissions via postal mail.

To request a copy of our full writing and article submission guidelines, please email editor Heather Davis at . Please allow up to 3 months for a response to your query.

Artist & Photographer Guidelines

All images should be sent as email attachments or on CD-ROM at 300dpi or better and in JPG, EPS or PDf format using CMYK color. Please include a brief bio as well as captions for photos and any relevant details about artwork. Cover images should be 8.5" x 11", with enough room to crop to a finished trim size of 8.375" x 10.875". Please keep in mind that we'll need head room for the title art, as well as room for feature story headings.

Once submitted, all artwork and photos are filed for future use and by submitting, you grant us the right to use your image(s) in any of our issues.
