The Nashville Zoo is home to exotic animals year round, but for one day each November, it becomes an adoption destination for loveable dogs and cats ready to find their forever homes. Join the Zoo at the third annual Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo on Saturday, November 10 as it welcomes over 15 area humane societies, animal shelters and pet adoption groups from around Middle Tennessee.
“With so many animals in our community needing homes, we welcome the opportunity to showcase them to people in different venues and appreciate the partnership with the Zoo that help us get the word out,” says Lisa Reeves with Nashville Area Humane Association. “This event is a wonderful community collaboration on behalf of animals in need.”
Almost 100 pets have been adopted since the event’s inception in 2010. Guests are welcome to come pick their pet for adoption and receive promotional items from Pedigree, pet supply companies and retail outlets. Zoo docents will also be on hand to speak with guests about responsible pet ownership practices.
Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo takes place on Saturday, November 10 from 10am-4pm. The event is free to the public and does not include admission to Nashville Zoo. For health and safety reasons, please leave current pets at home.
And be sure to stop by the Nashville Paw magazine booth for some fun contests and more!
The event is presented by Pedigree/Whiskas and is sponsored by Classic Party Rentals, Krispy Kreme, Nashville Paw Magazine and Yellow Pages. For more info, visit nashvillezoo.org.
